22/04/2015 - UNIVERSAL RELIGION (ANNULE!!!)

Official Universal Religion update:
A delayed update while we face national and personal crisis, due to the earthquakes on 25.th April and 26th April, its continous after shakes and serious consequences.
As a lot of you might know, we had managed to set up an alternative setting at a new venue in the valley of Kathmandu, Hattiban.
Shortly after facing 24 hours of hard work re organising and solving our logistical challenges, we faced an earthquake that hit 7,9 on the Richter scale.
From one minute to another, our original plans and intentions for this festival venue, completely changed course.
There was no option for us to go through with the festival. Nepal was in ruins and after shakes were rolling in. We now took on the responsibility to assist and secure the area and all its 500 + guests.
We had 30 % of our employees and crew present. The majority of our employees had to leave us and attend their families as many of their family houses were now in ruins.
Supply chains had been broken, electricity cut in periods of time, poor network for our phones, but we were SAFE. Everyone had a place to sleep and food accessible to them.
We as organisers stayed on and faced the challenges together with our guests.
- we are so grateful for our hardworking crew and partners who stayed with us, in spite of their personal crisis.
- we are so thankful for our friends who organised this venue for us, which created a safe place for all these people, including ourselves to be, while the rest of the country was in panic. ( keeping in mind the original venue has been badly affected)
- we are very grateful for all the guests who supported us and created a beautiful positive vibe and really took care of each other.
We now are back with our families and are facing the reality and trying to help our loved ones and others in need. We pray for the safety of all affected by this tragedy.
Big Love
Universal Religion Team

Communiqué de l'équipe déco :
Slowly getting back to a normal routine from a total roller coaster.

Making new friends, building stronger relationships, building team spirit, setting up the original venue, getting everything pulled down by the police after 50% of completion, playing the waiting game with the officials, coming back to Goa for a day and setting up an event, 24 hour turn around time with setting up the new venue and finally the BIG SHAKE….I must say that was something!!!

I thank God with all my heart and of course the police officer for keeping all the festival crowd, organizers, crew and me out of the original area much in advance. Any kind of connectivity there would have been a MASSIVE problem.

I thank all the organizers of Universal Religion and the entire crew for doing their very best in keeping people safe. Despite all conditions conditions in the city and other areas they stayed up there and made sure arrangements were made to keep people there safe and comfortable.
