Brain 2 is Preampus Brain's  bigger, better brother. Inspired by some of the greatest amps ever, Brain 2 is capable of some vintage sounds, smooth blues, classic British crunch and things will get a little hairy with the gain cranked, apparently.

AcmeBarGig suggests that if you're in the mood for some Classic Rock tone, or want that vintage crunch, then Brain 2 is your go to guy. Brain 2 is not as evil and crushing as some of the other amps but it still packs a huge punch and all the while you can be confident in it's ability to clean up and give you some great glassy clean sounds with the gain and your guitar's volume rolled off a little.

Bear in mind the Preampus Line amps are Head ONLY so you will need to use some external cabinet modeling.

Mr. Tater Head is the last amp in AcmeBarGig's "Preampus Classic Hybrid" line.

Mr. Tater Head has three different gain controls - Bass Gain, Mid Gain and Treble Gain - as well as the standard Bass, Mid and Treble controls on its tone stack. These extra gain controls mean you can really get in to shaping the sound of the saturation. It takes some tweaking but AcmeBarGig says that you can get some really unique tones through altering the overall gain control and the three extra gain knobs.

2RuleFilter is a self-resonant moog type filter that allows the filter cut-off frequency to be controlled manually, by LFO, or by an envelope follower. It has a interesting feature called "scrambler" that plays filtered signal randomly depending on the selected beat. The "mix" knob mixes wet and dry signals, The "volume" knob is for setting the output volume level. The"Bit Crusher" produces hard sound. Using its scramble feature you can maintain the rhythmic, choppy, buffered and tempo sync output.

TheoK Predelay Compensator VST

This plug-in introduces a user controllable pre-attack phase to any material played through it. This comes especially useful for sample libraries which had to be edited tightly so the playing is consistent. The editing tends to remove a very important aspect of the library, the pre-attack phase: The mallet sounds of Marimbas, the plectrum sound of acoustic guitars and harpsichords, the nail noises of a harp, or the hammers of the piano etc. This plug-in attempts to recreate those pre-attack noises or create a psychoacoustic illusion of them.

Noisie is a simple 3 oscillator synth.

Aethereal is an ambient vector synth for creating evolving atmospheres and textures.

Aethereal comes equipt with over 100 built in sampled sounds such as synth tones, atmospheres, vocal pads and sound FX.
The sounds can be loaded into four wave oscillators which can be mixed between using a sophisticated 4-Way TransMixer, either manually, with auto-modulation or in a set transition from one sound to the next.

The Auto-Modulation section can also control the Multi-Vector, which uses three X/Y Position Points to modulate various parameters. Each point can be assigned to two different parameters which are then controlled in the vector grid by moving the Position Point up/down & left/right.
To add to the modulation options is a 16-step mod sequencer, which can modulate things like the filter and pitch.

This VSTi plug-in is a simplified emulation of a Roland TB-303.

In the interests of transparency, we should say that NoiseMaker hadn’t actually been released when we began our search for the best free VST plug-in, but given that it’s an improved version of TAL-Elek7ro, the synth that had been on course to top our chart, we felt compelled to include it.

There’s something especially satisfying about using a free synth that used to cost money, and daHornet is just such a thing. It’s based on the Electronic Dream Plant Wasp, a cult hardware favourite, and offers warm and squelchy filters, unusual envelopes and an authentic analogue sound.

Although it certainly falls into the ‘quirky’ category, there’s more to daHornet than first meets the eye, which explains why it continues to create a buzz (sorry).

Sadly, it seems that Kjaerhus Audio is no longer operating as a company, but the good news is that its much-loved range of classic free effects is still available for download elsewhere.

BeatVox is a rompler that replicate a percussion sounds, performed by the voice.

The set contains a half dozen different percussion, as well as two «voice» chromatic set: phonemes «too» and «poo».
