◄ TRACKLIST & REVIEW IN ENGLISH ►

1 Aborigen's Dream - 09:17 - 100 Bpm
is atmospheric, with a beautiful, ambient-driven beginning. The song develops well and has a strong, tribal trance segment in the last act that is fantastic. Great opening! A-

2 Adagio For The Braves - 10:00 - 115 Bpm
has more energy; after a voice sample in the middle act, it breaks out beautifully from 7:40 forward, soaring above the clouds in the final act. This is a solid song with a fantastic ending. A-

3 Angels Never Cry - 08:37 - 115 Bpm
begins darker than the previous two numbers (quite catchy), with piano notes mixing into the provocative atmosphere. The beat soon arrives, coupled with chilling atmosphere. The song becomes more psychedelic and arresting, though the middle involves less evolution than the previous two songs IMO. The final third is like clouds parting as light emerges, very nice! B+

4 Symphonic Tendencies - 12:02 - 115 Bpm
has more oomph, strong ambient work, and a catchy beat, soundscapes, and more. B+

5 Eternity - 07:52 - 120 Bpm
is more ambient-influenced, coupled with haunting echoes, delectable psy work, and an increase in energy. Excellent work. A-

6 Back To The Origin - 09:11 - 124 Bpm
is another strong psy-influenced chill track. The beat changes up about half-way through, producing a funky, more dynamic effect to a solid vehicle. B+

7 Jungle Fever - 12:11 - 128 Bpm
is more goa influenced to me than any of the songs here due to a tasty layer in the last third, another great track! A-

8 Waiting For You - 10:20 - 115 Bpm
reminds me of Asura a little in the opening before blosseming into its own. There are some really nice psy/skipping sounds, melodies, and relaxing/contemplative parts, the latter two further accentuated in the final moments. This is a beautiful closing track. I cannot find a single, negative thing to say about this album surprisingly. A-

The Tree of Life is one of the few chill albums in 2012 to capture  attention. It's an unexpected surprise. Although the site says Progressive-Chill, I swear there's ambient, tribal, psy, and even goa influences on this chill album that appears to (at least to me) develop into Chill/Ambient/Psy-influenced Trance! There's a lot of feeling and warmth too. Tracks comprise substantial chapters in a rich and developed story, and involve healthy amounts of catchy melody/sound work. The songs develop, evolve; they're well done. There are no filler tracks here, in my opinion. This album deserves a lengthier review, and for more people to be aware of its existence, hear/enjoy. Well done Akshan and Altar Records for this strong release!
