StereOMantra first burst into a lot of people’s consciousness with his 2014 album, Projections, which he gigged from the UK to Hungary and along the way gathered up many a fellow traveller to join him and his digital art sensibilities. Clearly inspired by the experience he is now about to launch the follow up, the EP Heliocentric, on Free-Spirit Records.
Operating in the psy-chill sphere, StereOMantra produces enduring pieces of music that despite the throttled bpms contain many of the characteristics the more energetic ends of the spectrum do. Yes, while other-worldly and ethereal in nature so too does there bristle emotions threatening to break out and engulf the listener. Consisting of four tracks there clearly exists a progression from beginning to end with the final location distinctly distant to the beginning one. Cleverly hidden early it is by the final tune that the mood breaks wide open and a sense of enlightenment becomes apparent.
What is this enlightenment? My interpretation is that it is hidden in the name of the EP. As a model of the universe heliocentricism has the Sun at the centre round which all celestial bodies, including the earth, rotate but StereOMantra is debunking this theory by exhibiting there exists too other intangibles on metaphysical level determining our day-to-day experience so to have only one entity at the middle is overly simplistic and without philosophical consideration.
Well that was my enlightenment at least, what will be yours?

StereOMantra is Robert Rohaly, a Hungarian music composer from Budapest.
After years of classical piano studies he made his first electronic music compositions in the 90′s, experimenting with Impulse Tracker and even older “DAW”s and gradually developed to an advanced level through related studies and much practice.
From the start he has believed that art and science meets most perfectly in psytrance and has experimented with different kinds of related genres through the years until finally finding that ‘progressive psy chillout’ is the most suitable for him, capable of expressing deep feelings of a wide range. Mostly inspired by chill artists like GMO & Dense, Lab’s Cloud, Aes Dana, Ascent & Argus, CBL and Solar Fields, now he is trying to raise prog psy chill to a new level, bringing gentle new atmospheric trippy chill sounds to you ears.
Balancing on the border of popular chill and psychedelic culture he tries to bring the best of both worlds together, doing that with the aim of destroying the boundaries and building up deep connections amongst his listeners.
